This report provides updates on Government of Kenya (GOK) import requirements and regulations for food and agricultural products. It outlines applicable laws, guidelines, import procedures, and contact details for key trade regulatory and specialist agencies. Exports to Kenya must be inspected in the country of origin or supply by an agent contracted by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and issued a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) prior to shipment. Kenya’s long-standing import ban on genetically engineered (GE) agricultural and food products remains in effect.
