Senegal Exporter Guide 2025

This report provides an overview of Senegal’s food and agricultural market, informed by engagements with major retailers, importers, processors, and food service operators across the country. Senegal’s growing urban population, expanding middle class, and vibrant retail and hospitality sectors are driving increased demand for high-quality imported food products. While traditional markets remain prevalent, modern retail chains and niche stores focused on U.S. products are rapidly growing, particularly in urban centers like Dakar and Thiès. The hospitality sector is also scaling up around Dakar and the emerging Diamniadio hub to accommodate a rising number of international visitors drawn by major events and increased business travel linked to oil and gas investments. U.S. exporters have strong opportunities to supply competitively priced, halal-certified, and value-added products across the retail, processing, and food service sectors by partnering with established local distributors.
